Multi-Factor Authentication at Connecticut College
NOTICE
Connecticut College is launching a Multi-factor Authentication initiative to help secure the College’s key application data. This MFA requirement will require an extra step when logging into the College’s VPN service or when logging into the Central Authentication Service.
What is MFA?
Is a method of computer access control in which a user is granted access only after successfully presenting several separate pieces of evidence to an authentication mechanism – typically at least two of the following categories: knowledge (something they know), possession (something they have), and inherence (something they are).
When logging onto a Connecticut College system you will be prompted to enter and additional passcode or push verification from your pre-registered device.
