Español in Toledo: Intensive Spanish Summer 2022

This Connecticut College faculty-led program is geared for undergraduate students seeking to hone their Spanish language skills while experiencing the vibrant multicultural environment of Toledo, Spain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Open to all majors and Spanish language learners of all levels, including pure beginners.

Along with the academic program, the students will enjoy cultural activities, from guided tours of Toledo, workshops on Spanish film, Flamenco dance classes, and more.  We will also explore the famous landscape of La Mancha and the windmills that inspired Cervantes. Weekend excursions to Segovia and Avila are included in the program. 

The program will be housed at the Spanish Center of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, located in the historic center of Toledo.

Dates: July 4 - July 29th

Costs: $6000 (includes tuition, books and course materials, homestays with Spanish host families, cultural enrichment activities, excursions, and medical insurance).  Roundtrip airfare not included. Limited scholarships available for students with demonstrated financial need.

Archeological Conservation Institute 2022

Co-led by Professors Joseph Alchermes (Department of Art History) and Denise Pelletier (Department of Art), this month-long program introduces students to archaeological excavation and conservation in Italy. In addition to experiential learning in the field, participants will have opportunities for field trips to museums, other archaeological sites, and historic buildings.  Open to all majors. 

Dates: June 12-July 10

Costs: $5200 (includes room and board, excursions, and other cultural enrichment activities). Roundtrip airfare not included.
